"Mike Ayres failed to fulfill his responsibilities as my attorney. He exploited someone who was going through a difficult time and engaged in dishonest practices. He withheld crucial details of a consent order and kept them hidden throughout the entire process. Despite multiple attempts to discuss the matter, he refused to call me back. He took $5,000 and has not responded to my voicemails. Moreover, he failed to disclose that he had prior associations with my ex’s attorney. The legal order I received appears to have been written by a five-year-old. I strongly advise against hiring him. He has been avoiding me since the day he failed me and has lied repeatedly about the case I entrusted to him."

Carmine took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all of my questions with patience, and made me feel confident and supported throughout.nEvery staff member I interacted with was courteous and committed to providingnquality service. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their clients’ outcomes. I’m incredibly grateful for Carmine’s hard work. "This law firm does not offer professional services. Scheduled a consult and never received a call back, as I was originally told I would receive a call back within 15 minutes of that initial call. I had to call back the next day and I still did not get a call back after two calls made to this office. I would not recommend a firm that cannot be responsive. Update: Only as I left a review did I receive several call backs, and spoke with Gina R. (practicing attorney at this firm) who had little care so not sure why I was even receiving a call back. She claimed she did not know my matter was urgent, but I never stated any of my matters so she could not even understand the reason for my call and provide empathy or maybe understand as to why I was trying to use their services. I never stated I had urgent matters but as a law firm, every matter should be treated with urgency as we, the clients are paying exponential amounts for legal services. If you have to tend to other matters and clients, I can understand that but at least provide courtesy and take a minute out of the day to provide a window of further discussion. I expected a better outcome after speaking with the firm but she seemed to hold firm that she was too busy to call back and did not want to understand my situation. Unless you show up to the firm and open your wallet, maybe then this firm will list you as an urgent client. Until then, based on my experience, from a client standpoint I would not use their services after my courtesy call back to them."

"Back in 2008 Vincent DeLuca helped me obtain full custody of my daughter and to leave New Jersey and move to Atlanta. It was a contentious child custody case and no other lawyer would take it for I was requesting to leave New Jersey with my 3 year old daughter. Vinnie was patient, thorough, and figured out a pathway that allowed me to ultimately win my custody case and leave New Jersey with my daughter. After we won, Vincent told me that I was his first case wherein a parent was allowed to have joint custody and leave the state. I went to several attorneys, only Vincent saw not only the legal pathway for my situation to successfully win my case. Thanks to Mr. DeLuca's expertise and caring of our situation, my daughter has grown up thriving, now an adult and an ESOL teacher in Japan. That would not have happened without Vincent; thank you, sir."

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Criminal Defense Law legal services in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.

The most important step after an arrest is to exercise your right to remain silent and request an attorney before answering any questions from law enforcement. Contacting a criminal defense attorney as quickly as possible allows them to advise you on your rights and begin building a defense strategy from the earliest stage of your case.
In New Jersey, the legal terminology differs slightly from other states — what most people call misdemeanors are referred to as "disorderly persons offenses," while felonies are called "indictable crimes." Disorderly persons offenses are handled in Municipal Court, while indictable crimes are prosecuted in Superior Court and generally carry more serious potential penalties, including significant prison time.
Yes, in many cases a skilled criminal defense attorney can negotiate with prosecutors to have charges reduced or dismissed, depending on the facts and circumstances of the case. Options may include plea agreements, pre-trial intervention programs, or demonstrating weaknesses in the prosecution's evidence, all of which can lead to more favorable outcomes for the defendant.
A criminal conviction can have lasting consequences, including impacts on employment, housing, and professional licensing. However, New Jersey does offer expungement options for certain offenses, which can allow eligible individuals to have their criminal records cleared under specific conditions — making it important to discuss your long-term options with a qualified attorney.
Having an attorney represent you is valuable even if you are considering a guilty plea, because an experienced criminal defense lawyer can negotiate to minimize the charges or penalties you face. Without proper legal counsel, you may accept consequences that could have been reduced or avoided, and you may not fully understand the long-term implications of a conviction on your record.
